Risking it all

“…and the trouble is, if you don’t risk anything, you risk even more.” ~Erica Jong

I have a good job, which is so important in this economy. I have an awesome health plan, good coworkers and for the most part enjoy what I do. Though it does provide a sense of satisfaction that I’m doing something positive each day, I have felt for a while that there is something missing.

In the two years of trials and tribulations with the people and circumstances of my life I have found that I am missing something. That though I’m not unhappy, I am not necessarily happy. I believe that now is the time to change that. After a lot of consideration and prayer I’ve made, what is possibly, a life changing decision.

I will be leaving my job in the next few months to spend a year in my homeland of Puerto Rico. I will be going to spend time with my dad before his dementia takes over and he no longer remembers me. I will go to get to know the 30 year old brother I’ve never met and I will explore my roots by acquainting myself with the home I left 31 years ago.

I’m scared but I’m excited as I know that this will somehow change my life forever.

  1. WOW!!! What an adventure! Change is always very scary for me, but I know that is when I grow and learn the most. It helps mold us into the people that God wants us to become. GOOD FOR YOU!!!
